A platform can be described in a number of ways depending on the industry. In private equity, a platform is a core investment in a company that serves as a base for future growth and acquisitions. For medical aesthetics, a platform investment might involve acquiring a leading med spa that is well-established and has strong operations often with the team and infrastructure to support growth and implement operational efficiencies at other locations.

The idea is to use this platform as a foundation for expanding the business, either by acquiring other med spas or growing its services, to increase overall efficiency, value and scale.
